ZUMA a is a movie remake of one of the oldest and most popular comic books in the Philippines. It tells the story of a group of archaeologists who unearth a snake-god named Zuma, a creature donning a snake over his shoulder which perfectly accentuates his monster-like features.

Based on the comic series by writer/creator Jim Fernandez with artist Hal Santiago, the films stars Max Laurel as Zuma, Snooky Serna, Mark Gil, Dang Cecilio, Charlie Davao, Rey 'PJ' Abellana, Raquel Monteza, Louella de Cordova, Mark Joseph, Marie Blanca, and Tony Carreon among others.

The film is directed by Jun Raquiza with writing credits to Jim Fernandez (comic and characters), Manny Rodriguez (screenplay), Hernan Robles, (story adaptation for the screen), and Ben S. Maniclang (co-creator).
